Brought to life by the ancient atmosphere of the lagoon city, Venice, CARCINO Design Studio exists to interpret the universal language of form, function, and design by embracing both East and West. Primarily, the Studio focuses on and searches for beauty in design and architecture.
Established in Venice in 2021 by architects Maria Pernice and Marco Brotto, CARCINO Design Studio specializes in architecture and product design. Above all, we pursue beauty — a pursuit that is as complex as it is essential. Next comes communication, for without the shared ability to recognize the intent behind materials and form, meaning is lost. In this way, the object itself is not the final result — it is the convergence of vision, craftsmanship, and dialogue.
Working exclusively with the finest locally sourced materials, CARCINO Design Studio creates meticulously handcrafted, Italian-made pieces that reflect the cultural richness and artisanal heritage of their origin. Every stage of production is subject to strict quality control. This is why CARCINO creations — fully customizable and made to order — become treasured additions to our clients’ collections.
The genesis of design is rooted in faith — a belief in architecture as an instrument of freedom. It is the conviction that society can evolve from the ordinary into a space where the avant-garde becomes personal expression. Design is a gift — the primal manifestation of the idea. In its undeniable clarity, it becomes the truest form of connection between humanity and the divine. While some materials are born from stone and earth, others emerge from curiosity. And curiosity often dares to cross invisible boundaries — boundaries built by habit, a force that numbs creativity and draws us into a vortex of repetition. At CARCINO Design Lab, we challenge both visible and hidden limitations. We question convention and embrace the tools of tomorrow. This journey has led us to the cutting edge of artificial intelligence. We believe that neural networks will become integral to everyday life, and through AI, we have enhanced our production processes, achieving a balance between craftsmanship and efficiency that was previously out of reach. We are already moving beyond outdated parametric design toward a generative approach — one where the human mind remains the true creator.
In labor, humility.
In search, creation.
In promise, meaning.
